London to host 2017 World Athletics Championships

Just been announced so no link yet but London will be hosting the 2017 World Athletics Championships. The first real sign of an Olympic Legacy.

Excellent news with the olympics next year the facilities will be used again for a major sporting event nice to get them without the facilities we will have i doubt we would have got them:)

What I want to know is how we can afford this as well as make all the cuts to services in the current financial climate. Yes it is great for the country but isnt this like me and you buy a 60inch plasma tv while still trying to pay our credit cards back?

The infrastructure will already be there because of 2012 and the extra income from spectators/tourists hopefully should outweigh the costs..
