connecting laptop with TV
Hi everyone,
i would to ask if it would be possible to connect a TV ( some what old) with a laptop. My laptop has a HDMI output however the tv has only a scart input (and some coxial something).... is there any cable that i can connect the two? |
Re: connecting laptop with TV
If you have a separate box IE DVD recorder/Blu ray player with HDMI input and has a scart output as well as HDMI output that is the only way I think.

Re: connecting laptop with TV
It's allowed. Just might not work, depending on what you want to watch. If you want to watch the odd MKV or AVI, it should be OK. If you want to watch anything that might have any Digital Rights Management (such as Blu Rays, DVDs or any legally downloaded movie or TV show), then it won't.
It's going to be expensive though. I think you'd need to use either a converter (they do exist) or a Blu Ray recorder to the conversion. You'd be talking £200 or £300 easily. |

Presumably the laptop has a VGA output as well as HDMI. You can get VGA to SCART cables.
