Can someone tell me what happens when William becomes King? Does Middleton become Queen or can you only have one? If he died would his first born become King or would it be Harry?

Kate will become Queen when William becomes King.

If he was King and died before his first born was 18, a regent would stand on the throne until the Heir became 18.

If this would be Kate or Harry I don't know.

If we had really joined the 21st century we wouldn't even have such an institution but given I quite like Her Maj + Charlie and the alternative is President Blair and the like I'm all for it and a better bet as what? Being the never used spare is hardly some thing to get upset about.

I believe she becomes Queen but can't actually rule should some thing happen to Bill, same thing happened to the Queen mum when her husband died.

When a king inherits the throne on the death of his father, his wife becomes Queen Consort and his mother, if she's still alive, becomes Queen Mother.

A king's wife is Queen Consort, but if the reigning monarch is a Queen rather than a king then her husband is Prince Consort, e.g. Victoria's husband, Prince Albert.

Thank god they finally sorted this out, I'm sure all the future princesses that this impacts will be very relieved.

Now they've sorted this out they can concentrate on eradicating world poverty
