Warrington Fault?

I have been struggling with a intermittent broadband fault for over a week now. The Virgin Media engineer came round today and shock horror it all worked fine when he was here! He changed my old modem for a new hub and it worked fine for about a hour! Since then its been on/off all day with my best speeds being about 2meg!
Anyone else having any trouble?

There's a fair bit of civil's work going on in Woolston at the minute and has been for a few week's, I think it's to do with a certain M.O.D building that's in the process of being finished.

I wonder if VM are to be the broadband providers for said building ;) hence your sub par service right now.

Pure guess work mind :D

Hi,

I live on the wirral. My 50mb bb slowed to a crawl mid morning today and now takes 2 to 3 mins to load the bbc homepage. Basically unusable.
Rang VM techs. They are sending an engineer on Monday! today is Wednesday! They say no signal reaching the modem during testing (the tick is flashing).

I has same problem about 3 weeks ago. 'resolved itself overnight' but engineer failed to turn up for the appointment to check local configs.

I think you would have been better starting your own thread as the wirral is served from the bromborough exchange and not the warrington exchange

The internet has been working all day today but man the speeds are slow! lucky to be getting 1meg. How would I know if Virgin are on the case? On my Virgin media web (when I can get on it) it says its all ok but I doubt it!

I would be tempted to post your power level's from the modem just in case something has changed.
Also include a copy of the event log and I'm sure someone will be able to help.

Might also be worth getting as many people as you know (e'g' neighbours who use Virgin for BB) to ring in and complain if their service is also being affected, as it could point to a local issue.
