Stupid and pathetic drivers
I make no qualms about the above title, we hear again where a driver has been stopped by police on suspicion of drink driving.
When you get behind the wheel of a car, van or truck, you are driving a killing machine, that at the blink of an eye, lack of concentration you can end up killing someone, such as on a mobile phone, gone down the pub for one drink. People take chances, using a mobile or when drinking, and someone ends up without a relative, and then they say 'it wasn't my fault' Pathetic, when you are using any vehicle, remember one thing Both hands on the wheel, leave the mobile alone and don't drink. |

Re: Stupid and pathetic drivers
can you include dizzy coppers too & boy racers white van drivers who think law dont apply and overtaker nutters on bends, speeders. Push bikers lover to play chicken at lights or junctions.
I have had close shaves due to above. Few years back I had no mobile but was behind drunk driver which hit both kerbs but the road was wide enough for 4 buses. Put my hazard lights on another car driver with me contacted the police yep while moving we had no alternative we had to try stop oncoming cars. I managed get infront this driver as he was only doing small speed. Cops applauded us for do it. Another was dizzy female copper on her mike turning corner lost control nearly hit me head on. Surely these things just bad as mobiles they should have partner to use comunications so safer driving. Regardless how they chump up there driving standards are not much better us mere mortals. Especially those clever coppers in there supped up bmw/mitchibishi's theyre road manners increadibly disgusting. Saw one slam it in reverse sped backwards pushed another car into oposite side off the road he clearly was not looking what was behind him. They cut you up speed around (not on emergencies) in our town act like boy racers themselves. One day they will cause accident reported it serveral times there conduct. I had white van overtake while was waiting to go right into a side road nearly hit him even though I was indicating just saw him stoped in time. I do think road manners driving habits horrendous today certainly alot worse since I passed many moons back. I always when out treated other road users idiots INCLUDING MYSELF. Simply you can have off day with odd lapse concentration as long you are aware make sure extra vigelant not problem . Agreed there however sadly people who take risks that plane wrong |
Re: Stupid and pathetic drivers
Its not only car drivers...... Cyclists are just as bad.
The amount of cyclists I see everytime thinking that red lights don't apply to them and they sail on through at junctions. |
Re: Stupid and pathetic drivers
Cyclist are terrible, l have seen loads of cyclists going through red lights and don't give a damn, In the City of London, the police there had a system, where if they saw a cyclist go through a red light, they would fine them.
The worst accident l have seen involving a cyclist, was in Southall, A cyclist was killed when she went past a lorry on his left and got jammed between the lorry and the fence. And yet it clearly stated on the rear of the lorry, for cyclist not to go that way, they will never learn. |

Re: Stupid and pathetic drivers
I see them everyay on the journey to work, not using indicators, driving without lights (when the conditions demand it), sitting in the middle/outside lane at 60mph, or driving at 80+.
But the biggest is MOBILE PHONES even some 4 years after it was made illegal. |
Re: Stupid and pathetic drivers
I know its a little off topic but i didnt understand what happened to me when i had a car accident.
I had a blowout which pulled me into parked cars and did over £25k worth of damage damaging 5 veichles. The road was blocked and i rang the police and a car came with 2 officers, the police woman made sure drivers were told road was blocked etc and the guy asked me a few questions like was i insured and was i speeding. The Part i didnt understand he didnt breathalise me or ask if i had been drinking which i thought was standard procedure if an accident occured. And what made it worse was the copper said "Dont worry about it these things happen, i wrote my dads car off the other day and damaged i think he said 8 vehicles" and this was supposed to make me feel better? lol |
Re: Stupid and pathetic drivers
Many years ago I had a serious accident, while I was in hospital (observation), a cop ask me has I been drinking, I replied "I don't drink and drive" in a tone that must have made hime I was telling the truth as I was tested.
They proberly couldn't smell it so didn't raise it due to the nature of the accident. |
Re: Stupid and pathetic drivers
Just to mention it, there is NO LINK, but an observation by myself.
IF, the mobile rule was enforced, you wouldn't need a congestion charge in London, if you stood at the top of my road which is a major road that joins onto the A4, for 30 minutes, l guarantee you that you would have over 100 drivers on the phone - now l work that out at 8.000 pounds at £80.00 per ticket. |

Even so I think most drivers would see a line of cars lined up with Police in Hi-Viz jackets handing out FPN's like confetti and might just decide to keep off the phone till they got past. Quote:
If there is no reason to think you have alcohol in your system, no injuries were caused and they can't smell anything 9 times out of 10 they'll decide not to breathalyze. |

Re: Stupid and pathetic drivers
Driving standards are pretty terrible. Everyone is in a rush these days.
Here coming into the city centre there's 2 lanes into town, one lane out, with a flat central reservation. The amount of times there's 2 lines of traffic and you'll see someone take to the central reservation and just sail past because apparently they're so much more important than everyone else is ridiculous. Then you have the buses that just pull out even when you're along side them. Or the people that go round buses even though there's a ton of oncoming traffic. It's not really helped by the insistence of putting bus stops right on corners either, you can't park within 10m of a corner (although no one obeys that these days anyway) yet you can stick a bus stop right on top of one. As well as pedestrian crossings. Those things are always in the worst place, either on a corner or half hidden by a bend. |

I had bloke walk out on me had to swerve just because he could not wait 2 seconds. Then he was quickly off right up my bumper. Bibbing hooter for me to go faster if you came out earlier then you dont needed to drive aggressive is what I say. Touch wood never been in accident yet and cleen licence only got 1 parking ticket for inconsiderate parking. I had parked with dads disabled bad 1 foot to close to junction as did not realise I overhanged the disabled bay jobsworth copper. However I have witnessed 3 bad accidents. 1 was where I was witness where car smashed into car coming out narrowly missed collecting me. Another was lorry shot through red light hit car then drove off left loads debri and washing mashine. 3rd was horror one at night new year. Biker behind me charging down road smashed into central ireland. bike was sliding at 70mph at my car managed to drive forward keep eye on it let it pass me. Ended with it front of the car. Rushed to the chap he had no helmet so tried to stop him moving with help but he had been drinking heavily stronger us tried to move. Yes not saying what but claret came out really bad so we had to put preasure on it. Ambulance came dealt with it sadly heared he died and that it was stolen bike. At first traffic copper thought I had hit him but after talking to first scene copper he lightened up towards me. Praised me for avoiding motorbike:angel: said it could hit me flipped gone into back window hit my passengers. Worst accident ever seen glad it was night poorly lit I would freaked out. they never found helmet so with the sort head injury sustained cops felt he never wore one. I would not wish that on anyone to see or be involved. |
Re: Stupid and pathetic drivers
Round my way we have got the suicidal pedestrians, you know the ones? they meander out in the road, and are completely aware you're there, but they're going to cross in their own good time, and you'll just have to stop because they're sure as hell not going to.
I'm not talking about disabled/pensioners either, or people on any sort of road crossing. Typical of the 'screw you, I'm all right' society we have got today. |
