My Internet Is Broken

Virgin media 10mb service, latest modem. Browsing slow. Playing games online, impossible. Been like this for a few days. Checked pingtest .net and got this. NR5 (norwich) area.

Hmmm must be contageous. My inet is broken now. I notice I have gone from 64qam to 256qam and power levels are now all 10's and 11's. Download speed is varying from zero to 30meg but mostly it's around 8meg. Browsing is like wading through treacle. :(

Yeah I know what you mean. Calls to offshore support are mostly a waste of time and just serve to raise your blood pressure.

Hmmm....mine seems to have sorted itself out. :) It didn't have enough grunt to even run a speed test before.

I phoned them up and it seems like there is something wrong. Oversubscribed in the norwich area or something. A fix is coming on the 26th of october supposedly. Net is barely usable, been like this for weeks.

Re: My Internet Is Broken

If it is oversubscription the usual symptom is OK all day till 4.00pm then major slowdown till around midnight - 2.00am.

If yours is as your speedtest all the time then there is something wrong. If you spoke to offshore maybe you are being fobbed off.

What are your signal levels like. Post them on here.

They did say there was a fault in the area. Then i went on the virgin media forum and someone was saying it was oversubscribed. Ill get back with logs shortly.
