Replacement for Superhub Routers

I know there are still a number of people not impressed with the wireless functions on the superhub.

I found this online and just thought i would share as its a Wireless N 300 Router with Gigabit Ports + Access Point for £65

Good idea on the thread, but bad choice on the router I'd say.

The only thing that has over the DIR-615 (which can be had for £10 or less) is the gigabit ports, and you can get a gigabit switch for, well, £10 or less. £20 in total vs. £65 for a combined unit? You've gotta be hella short on space.

For that price you could be looking at simultaneous dual-band + gigabit + OSS routers with "up to" 600-900mbps performance.

This is a common question customers ask me. I tend to suggest the 615 as its dirt cheap or if money's no object an apple airport extreme

well TP Link have released their dual band router :D or at least put it up on their site...

http://www.tp-link.com/en/products/d...-WR2543ND#spec

it isn't on sale anywhere at the moment by the looks of it  no point rushing anyway.

Re: Replacement for Superhub Routers

That actually looks good, spec-wise. I've been curious for a while to test out single-chip 450mbps 3x3 devices. My current bonded 2x2x2 (600mbps) setup is... complicated to say the least.

While dual-band antennas are a bit of a duff point, at least they're detachable and upgradeable. Now if it has an open Broadcom/Atheros/Ralink SoC that'd make it the best thing out there IMO.

Re: Replacement for Superhub Routers

it isn't simultaneous dual band according to the dd wrt forum :( will have to hold out for the rest of the range to be released.

Naw but for the right price I'd just get two (or 8, depending on my mood :P)
