Unable to read Minidump files on Windows 7x64
 

For some reason i am unable to read or gain access to minidump files within the windows folder on my PC as for some reason my PC is still having white screens of death.

I have installed the x64 debugging tools and they open ok but when i try and read them it says that i do not have permission to read them and to contact system admin. Now my account on PC is admin account and i have tried running software in admin mode and still the same and it will not allow me to change permissions on the files.

Anyone have any idea?

have you tried downloading and running BlueScreenView? run it with administrator privileges (right click and Run As Administrator)

otherwise, try running up a command prompt under admin and xcopy out the dmp files to your desktop and load/open the files from there.

that will allow me to open one thats 286kb in size but latest one is 1.6mb in size and its not finding it.
