D-link USB to Ethernet Adapter
 

I bought this adapter to be able to link my old PC USB port to my new wireless router. However when I plug the adapter in it doesn't light up and when I install the CD I get a Code 39 error. Do I actually even need this anyway? I already have my PC connected to VM Modem, the modem connected to a Belkin Wireless router - but nothing goes from PC to the router due to the USB and ethernet ports not being matched. I know I'm pretty IT thick but any (simple) advise might help. I need to get my router working in harmony with my PC so I can set up my new Wifi laptop. At the moment I can only use the internet on one or the other (PC or laptop) not at the same time. Help!:confused:
