can negotiate the details of my VIP package?
 

I'm giving Virgin over £100 a month for the VIP package; I have have an old standard STB, the first gen V+ plus box and receive a 20MB broadband connection. I've had the VIP package since it was introduced and I've been with cable for over 13 years.

I want 30MB broadband, the V+ box replacing with a TiVo and a second HD box to replace the old standard Samsung one. I also plan to ask Virgin if they will ditch the phone extras. sky movies and give me Sky Sports HD. I'm not to bothered about savings but I think I pay enough for what I've just suggested.

So, my question is how likely is it that Virgin will negotiate with me? Because if they wont it make more sense for me to leave and join Sky considering the amount I pay - and the fact the house phone is never used, and all I watch is BBC, sky sports and the odd bit of 'Bear' on Discovery.

The VIP bundle is a fixed deal i.e it includes everything advertised within it. Start trying to remove 'extras' and it stops being the VIP bundle

If you are looking to upgrade the VIP deal then the best one to go for is VIP 50 with TiVo. http://shop.virginmedia.com/bundles/...e-package.html It'll likely cost you less than you are paying now and give you most of the upgrades you want.

I would also suggest you keep the V+HD and swap out the SD box for TiVo, whilst rearranging where the V+HD is in your house. It will then give you the best TV options

There are lower bundles that will not include the bits you want, but whether they will actually be cheaper is something you'll have to discuss with Virgin

well i'm still on vip deal just got a load phone extra off as i didn't need them i paying 117 pound for 50mb, tivo, v+HD and a vhd all on xl tv as of yesterday. ring option 5 then 2 and they see what they can do for u

If they've taken the phone and any extras off, you are no longer on VIP. You may have the same TV and Broadband but it's not the VIP bundle
