Samsung SD VBox STB wattage

Just curious, but what is the power consumption in watts for the SD Virgin Media Samsung VBox STB

It shows 50Hz, 0.2A Max.

I wouldn't think it would be much power to run these.

Many thanks for that. I thought that all these appliances required to have this info on them somewhere normally at the back? not on mine though.

This months copy of !Which magazine arrived today and had a small piece on TiVo power consumption. Its headline was "Virgin Medias TiVo is a power guzzler"

They stated "TiVo uses 19.2 watts per hour when on, reducing slightly to 18.2 watts in standby"

Have they got their facts in a twist SP?

I've just checked old emails and I was told 14.5W, but I haven't tested it myself. Perhaps it's gone up? Perhaps it varies from box to box? Perhaps someone's meter needs calibrating?

Nope.. 0.2A at 240v = 48w but that will be the max figure for the PSU..

As already suggested a power meter will be the only accurate way of testing it
