Xbox not reading Disks @ times

Hi all, I play my Xbox most night for about an hour, it is the old white Elite model. When i first put it on, no matter what game is in the machine i tend to get the error of "Disk Unreadable", even if I just a game in when turning the Xbox on. This happens even if the disk is clean, i tend to make sure before putting any disk into it. When i get this error, i take the disk out and at times dont even clean it just put it back in and it works. I even get this problem mid way through playing games at times which is rather annoying. Any suggestions kind folks?

:):)

Could be a number of things.. Faulty or dirty lens, the lens transportation rail has gummed up.. or a dry joint/intermittent faulty component in the disk or main unit..

Try a decent quality wet head cleaner disk first

Common problem with the 360 that many people unfortunately suffer from. 9/10 its the spindle sticking.

Usually does not cause any major problems but still a nuisance.
