Network sharing
Something I last set up on Window for Workgroups many years ago and simply have forgotten how to do. I have tried Googling with little meaningful results.
My internal network has a few PCs on it and I would like to share specfic directories on each PC across it. In WFWG is was pretty straightforward but on a combination of XP & W7 I cannot get it to work. My PCs have names (sad I know) and I would like to be able to connect without remembering IP adds. Eventually I will get a NAS and use that for the central hub I can access over my VPN outside the LAN. I am sure it can be done but it's far from obvious to me. Any help appreciated. TIA WP |
Re: Network sharing
All they need is a unique name and also all on the same workgroup.. Share a directory by right clicking and choosing share.. Remember that the accessing PC will need to know an account username and password if you want to keep up security.
There's a lot of websites that fully document the procedure like this one http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windo...dows-7-and-xp/ |
Re: Network sharing
