TiVo advice

Hey guys,

Had my TiVo installed Wednesday and so far it gets a thumbs up!

I was just wondering if people could advise me of me a few things...

So far I have had no suggestions, I've checked and suggestions are turned on. I've thumbed up lots and lots of programs. Just wondering how long till suggestions start to record?

In regards to the EPG my guide goes up to 2nd Aug with data, however the terrestrial channels all show to be announced. All the sky/cable channels show what's on up to that date.

Overall I'm looking to see how long till my TiVo settles in properly?

Many thanks for taking the time.

The suggestions l suspect will take a little while to flow through the system and the EPG l think that the terrestial channels only go 10 days ahead and Skys and other channels go 13 or 14 days ahead.

Yes you're correct.

If you go to Search&Browse -> Browse All TV -> TV -> Suggestions you'll be able to see the Suggestions it is planning to record.

Many thanks, it's good to see how it's remembering stuff.

It seems as though the box is getting faster everyday.

Terrestrial channels still only go 7 days ahead at the moment though, anything beyond that is TBA.

Yes it might take another day or two for it to fill up.

Cheers, gotta admit I'm thoroughly impressed. Yes it has a few bugs but what new tech doesn't. Most PS3 or 360 games I buy all need to download patches, some even when I receive them before the actual release date as a pre order! What I am trying to say is yes TiVo has flaws but VM are listening and these will be sorted over time.

Thanks to all who have offered advice.

FYI suggestions folder is now starting to fill up nicely, it's a good touch it leaves your HDD unaffected. That way it's like VOD but it's been personally tailored to your personal taste!
