Had TiVo but is this right?

Installation for next Wednesday

The guy from CS who I spoke said if I have tivo downstairs and my v+hd upstairs (replacing my vhd box) he can bring my bill down from £90 to £84 for the following

XL TV (tivo & v+hd)
sky sports hd
mutv
10mb broadband
xl phone (inc line)

does this sound right to anyone? He guarented the £84 per month would not change at anytime

Re: Had TiVo but is this right?

£24.50 for XL TV
£3 for TiVo
£6.50 for Additional Box
£22.50 for Sky Sports
£7 for Sky Premium HD
£6 for MUTV
£13.50 for L Broadband
£8 for XL phone
£13.90 for Line Rental

£104.90

So you've already been saving £14.90 with packages and such, now they're offering you another £6 off.

Seems a great deal, you should take it.

The guy told me if I moved my v+hd upstairs to replace vhd box they would wave that fee of £6.50 per month.

Yeah that is a current TiVo offer just in every case I've heard they have wanted the customer to get that as a 3rd box instead of replacing their current 2nd box.

So yeah, the V+HD is free for however long your with Virgin as long as you don't downgrade any further than whatever services you have now. I believe you can upgrade without it being affected though, which makes sense.

That's what I wanted to do but they refused. They said I could swap one of my existing v+'s for Tivo and drop the Multiroom charge on it but I couldn't add Tivo and keep my 2 V+ boxes without paying 2 multiroom charges.

I meant instead of him getting a 3rd box he cancelled his 2nd so the free one became the 2nd one. You were wanting to get free 2nd and 3rd boxes meaning they're giving away £12.50 instead of £6.25.

No I only wanted to get 1 free, paying £6.50 as I currently do but having 3 boxes which the leaflet made out I could do but the call centre said no, I could only swap a box and drop the charge which doesn't really make much sense as they are getting less money from me now that if they had gone along with what I wanted.

Sorry. Did you call retentions? I got the offer (two current plus new one free) last week after the regular line had no idea about the offer at all.

No I didn't unfortunately, stupidly I called the number listed in the leaflet advertising the offer expecting the Staff to be aware of the offer that they were advertising.

Not sure where the call centre was based, the guy sounded American but I don't think they have any US call centres so I am guessing he was in the UK.

It was installed today so its probably a bit late to sort it now. Already not impressed it lasted an hour before all the channels and network connectivity disappeared, was on the phone for an hour getting it fixed and was passed through 5 times.

Re: Had TiVo but is this right?

I've had my new contract come throught the post and it says my new monthly bill is not £84 per month but £78.79 per month. I rang 150 and they have confirmed this is correct, the £84 per month would have appiled if i had kept the Sky Sports HD upstairs.
