Network problem on Superhub
After a problem with my original Superhub factory resetting itself, I took Masque's advice and contacted Tech Support who sent me a new one and all went swimmingly with getting the new one delivered and set up. Internet connection now seems quite reasonable.
However, I have a problem in that my printer keeps falling off the network every couple of days and has to be restarted. Its seems to be the Superhub at fault as, thinking back, it started happening when I got the original Superhub. If I take it out of the equation and network everything with my old router (OK I then don't have internet access which isn't too clever) it all seems fine - I just went away for a few days so left everything hooked up on my old router and when I got back all was still connected. Bring superhub back in and a day later the printer goes off. Very few errors in event log but I do have a couple of "DHCP FAILED - Requested Info not supported" Anyone got any ideas? Cheers Octy |
Re: Network problem on Superhub
Is it connected by cable or wirelessly?

Re: Network problem on Superhub
I have seen my laptop get connected on wifi but not issued an IP address from the superhub so it might as well be not connected. Maybe something like that is happening here. In my case only restarting the superhub fixes it.

Re: Network problem on Superhub
I had issues with the Super Hub screwing up dhcp requests so I turned dhcp off on the SH and used another router on the lan to handle dhcp... and happy days.

Re: Network problem on Superhub
so are we taking the "super" out of superhub then?

Re: Network problem on Superhub
How about we offer the OP some actual help and not take the thread off topic?

Re: Network problem on Superhub
If it's just your printer having problems and you have it connecting wirelessly then, if you can, connect it by USB to one of your computers. It will still connect wirelessly to your other devices, via your superhub rather than directly, but the USB connection stops it dropping out.
I had the same problem with my Lexmark network printer, and that's with a WNDR3700 router! I have connected it via USB and problems have ceased. |

You could also try this below to use your own router. http://www.unofficialguidetolive.co....edia-super-hub |
Re: Network problem on Superhub
As you are able to set up your network ok on your router I'd agree with Masque's second suggestion - forget the hub router functions and use a seperate router.
Hopefully your own router doesn't use the 192.168.0 IP range or you'll need to change either it or the hub to use a different subnet. I changed the hub base IP range to 192.168.20 when I added my own router to avoid changing some fixed IPs I'd set up manually. You'll need to connect one of the hub ports to your routers WAN port. Once that's done you should be able to access the superhub via 192.168.100.1 to turn off it's wifi, reserve whatever IP it has assigned to your router and put it in the DMZ. Once modem mode is available you can simply switch the hub over to use that with no further changes. |
Re: Network problem on Superhub
Everything other than PPTP / IPSEC are already unticked
Think I will just wait for the modem mode formware update - if it ever comes! |
