Where's cheapest to buy 8.5GB Dual Layer discs? I went in PC World and they wanted £28 for a pack of 10

There's some here from SVP.

I don't know if it's any good as I've never had to buy them myself. Seems cheaper than PC World anyway.

£3.02 is definitely more appropriate than £28! Have you used SVP before?

I used to in the past, it was the delivery charge that stopped me going back. But they are still good if you buy in bulk.

Ah, I see what you mean, £5 is a bit steep when I only want one pack

Haha, they're the ones they're trying to sell for £28 at PC World! I may go for them if nothing cheaper comes up. Thanks :)

Amazon does seem to be the best choice so far if you just need a small amount. Not sure what the Datawrites are like from SVP, would be £13.55 for 25 with del.

I have had 2 packs of the Datawrite from SVP and had no problems at all with them, but I have not bought any lateley simply because of their delivery charges.

I used the dual layer ones for making dvd's from my collection of vhs tapes, could only get 1 hour on the 4gig discs.

I know I'm a cheapskate and they'll probably end up being crappy but I ended up buying these that are the £3.02 ones from SVP for £3.99 but with free delivery. If they do have a high coaster rate then at least it's not too much money wasted and I can buy some dearer ones. Thanks everyone for your help :)

The reason I bought the Datawrite ones is because they are Full Face Printable. A printed dvd front looks much better than if they are just written on.

I don't have a printer that can print on discs. Though I do have a LightScribe drive on my laptop so I may see if I can find some LightScribe discs :)

taken from svp site >> Aone 8x Full Face Printable Dual Layer DVD+R DL in Packs of 10 are manufactured by Ricoh

Ricoh are well known for their quality blank media so these disks should be great

i use Aone single layer discs that are actually manufactured by taiyo yuden and have never had a problem ..... taiyo yuden are the number 1 dvd media manufacturer imo

That's a relief! Hopefully they should be of decent quality then. Thanks :)
