Samsung NC10 Windows 7?
Samsung NC10
Hi all I have just purchased a NC10 which has XP installed, and I want to know if it's worthwhile and a good idea to install Windows 7 HP? The netbook has 2GB of ram if that helps? |
Re: Samsung NC10 Windows 7?
If you have a copy of Windows 7 lying around, then it maybe worth a try. But have the XP files saved in the background in case you wish to revert. I wouldn't be buying windows 7 specially as I'd have my doubts if the CPU is going to be man enough to power it at a reasonable speed.

Re: Samsung NC10 Windows 7?
Go to the Samsung website and look up your model.
I have the N310 and got the drivers off the Samsung website. It is certainly capable of running Windows 7. |
Re: Samsung NC10 Windows 7?
Atom Netbooks are now routinely supplied with Windows 7 (Starter) - I think the graphics can even handle Aero, though as memory requirements increase, the 2GB RAM is definitely a good thing if you intend turning the eyecandy on.
TBH, I wouldn't bother, unless you really want Win7 for consistency and/or have access to really cheap educational (student) or other licence deals |
Re: Samsung NC10 Windows 7?
I have put Windows 7 on my NC 10 and in runs better than XP. The only problem I have is if I update the graphics driver I get blue screen crashes, so I just use the ones that 7 installs. On another note if windows updates want to install the drivers do not let it.

Re: Samsung NC10 Windows 7?
I have 7 Ultimate running on a HP TC1100 with 1.5Gb Ram and a Centrino 1GHz CPU - works fine.

Re: Samsung NC10 Windows 7?
I had 7 Ultimate running on my 600mhz Q1 Ultra. Performed better with 7 than it did with XP tablet edition once I got 2GB RAM installed. Only niggle I had was a display driver issue that would sometimes make my display blank if hibernate had been used, only fix was to reboot. Used to happen once a month at most and I used to hibernate rather than shutdown 90% of the time so it could have happened a lot if it was a severe problem.
