Wiring a Patch Panel to cat5 wall plate
 
Hi

I think im having a blonde moment. I tring to re wire an Old Office, I have bought the cat 5 cable and the Patch Panel. I also bought an 4 module cat5e Wall plate. How do I wire this to the patch panel?

On the wall plate

8 Brown
7 Brown/White
4 Blue
5 Blue/white

Its the other side
2 green/orange?
1 white?
6 orange/green
3 white

Sounds like your ol' cables have become discoloured and the bands have faded but it looks like 568A wiring in which case for CAT5/E it will be:

8 - Brown/White (Brown)
7 - White/Brown
4 - Blue/White (Blue)
5 - White/Blue

2 - Green/White (Green)
1 - White/Green
6 - Orange/White (Orange)
3 - White/Orange
