internet useless!

Hi, I am tearing my hair out! I have virgin media 30 meg package with a super hub. Two days ago half my web favorites including virgin support forum all stopped loading on both ie9 and firefox.
I have tried everything, including formatting and reinstalling windows 7.
I have rebooted the router and restored defaults via the pin hole. half my favorites load fine (like this site)
I get a 'A' mark from pingtest.net and full down and upload speeds.
I cannot load rift forum, anything to do with virgin including my email. but other pages are fine.
When this continued after a needless reinstall i could have cried!
my hub power levels are all ok.
what the heck is causing this?
Three calls to support has made me think the forth may push me over the edge.
I use nod 32, this occurs with or without it installed.
any ideas would be great. many thanks.

Welcome to the forum

Sounds like a dns or a routing issue issue, just try opendns on your PC to see if it cures it..

As Kymmy says try the above or try using the proxy in this link http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/35250238-post5.html

Either should work and get your access back.
