News Server

Hi All

Anybody else having problems with VM news server?

SABnzbd recons the connection to the server is Ok but downloads just sitting in queue, Grabit just report a communication error when trying to do anything.

I've not changed any settings with regards to news.virginmedia.com, but I did install Avast a couple of days ago.

Any ideas would be great.

Cheers
Grim

Ah so you have installed something. I'd be looking very carefully at that.

Enough said - disable Avast's 'shields' and see if the issue resolves itself, probably will.

I have to admit that I have no problems with any protocols using Avast, YMMV.

The plot thickens....

Flash based websites dont want to play (but fine on laptop)... speedtest, youtube etc tell me flash isn't installed, while adobe tells me it is...

Spybot and ESET online scanner find no nasties
Tried a system restore to last week - no joy
Had a good clean up with ccleaner and revo - no joy

Now have issues with links - clicking 'windows installer' link on sabnzdp.org just hangs in both IE8 and FF3.6, though right click and open in new window works!

Think it might be time for a beer and worry about it in the morning!!

Cheers
Grim
