Remote record not working?
 
Got my new TiVo afternoon and I'm very impressed by it. The only snag I've came across so far is the remote record doesn't seem to be working. I keep getting the same error message: Sorry, there's been a technical glitch. Unfortunately, you won't be able to record this programme.

Is this common or could be the new box isn't registered to receive remote record requests yet?

I think that this is a known fault. There is a thread on here that has mentioned it (will try and find it for you)

I set two shows on to record from my mobile, all went well, got the "succesfull" screen but when I got home the shows didnt record and are not in the hiccups page either?

Just tried to record tonight's "Inside the Human Body" and it seems to have worked. Can't wait to get home to check now. :hyper::hyper:

I'm getting the technical glitch message with the web version as well. I didn't the other day and it successfully set a recording but when I tried setting a recording with the mobile website it said it was successful but didn't record.

The recording I set from my work PC was on the box when I got home so hopefully it should record.

I just set the champions league to record on Saturday and it asked me if I wanted to add padding at the end in case of extra time. How clever:D

I tried one earlier from my PC and it worked:D I did try about a week ago and it said that the message had been sent to the TiVo box, But did not work before.

So very happy now:D:D:D

I've managed a few remote records now and all has been well. :)

However, I just noticed that all the records have a Keep until date on them. Is there a way of changing this? The champs league has a date of Monday 30/05 - not much use if you're away for the weekend and hoping to watch the match on your return. I know you can change it on the TiVo but that's not much use if you're away on business for a few days and setting up a remote record.

I think the keep until feature is great but I'd have thought the default for remote recordings would be different. Is there a way round it?

I think "Keep until" really means "Do not delete before". It won't delete the recording on that date unless it needs the space for a new recording.
