Wishlist didn't work!
 

For the first time since I got it, my Tivo has let me down :mad::(

When I first got it, back in February (or was it March?) I set up a load of Wishlists, including one for the film "DéjÃ* Vu". I used the search facility to find the film and used the option to set up a wishlist for it. I also made it auto-record. Of course, I didn't know when it would be shown next but have been checking it anyway since then; as I do with all my Wishlists.

You can imagine my reaction when, on turning to BBC1 a few moments ago - completely by chance, I might add! - and found that the film had been on for the last hour :eek:

Even more luckily, one tuner was already on the channel having recorded Doctor Who earlier in the evening so I was able to get it from the beginning thanks to the buffering facility.

So I went into the Wishlist and the film wasn't listed :confused:

I'm going to be phoning this one in to Tivo faults next week but I thought I'd post about this in here too, just to see if anything similar had happened to anyone else.

What does the recording hiccup say? This sounds exactly the same as the Motogp recording failure I told you about.

Not sure if you remember me?, I was quite dissapointed with Tivo, I guess I'm getting used to it now, although we still miss our V+ services Tivo cant do, anyways,
I have a wishlist for Alan Sugar/The Apprentice. That never, and still has'nt worked, auto recored set too. I set up a SL for it before I went on holiday.
Wishlists for Madonna and Lady Gaga work a treat, Im waiting for my 30Rock/Tina Fey WL to work.

Can you post your wishlist, either photo or details of each field. One thing to watch out for with wishlists is exact phrases and optional words. It's easy to do the former by accident and fail to record because you really needed separate optional phrases.

Have you tried looking in the upcoming recordings for your wishlist and the recording hiccups? That will tell you if the problem is with the wishlist, or th TiVo bug we think Carl and I are seeing.

I suspect a problem with accented characters. What exactly does your WishList say?

It will be exactly that, metadata values must be within 00-7f on the ASCII character set.

"DéjÃ* Vu" uses E9 for the accented é and E0 for the accented Ã*

I must of deleted my wishlist for The Apprentice after it failed and I set up a SL.

My Ghost Whisperer wishlist has picked up the exact episode I had missed from series 5. I think Im geting the hang of Tivo.

There's no mention of it in 'recording hiccups'.

I used the "set wishlist" option to have Tivo set it up itself, which did include the accented characters, which also did appear in the title as broadcast.

"DéjÃ* Vu" didn't work but "DEJA VU" did. (I set up another wishlist whilst the film was still on and it picked it up fine :()

I cannot post any screens as I have deleted them.

So far I have been quite impressed with this feature, the Tivo finding and recording loads of programmes related to my wishlist.
The icing on the cake was when I found a planned recording of a Buddy Holly (on my wishlist) documentary on Sky Arts 1 HD which I may well have missed.
