Upgrading to 30 meg BB - Couple of queries

Hi all - hope someone can help...Firstly as title I am upgrading from 10 meg to 30 meg BB and at same time I have cancelled my TV from Virgin so the question I have is could I connect my modem to the cable my set top box was plugged into ? Obviously first disconnectiong the old modem upstairs as computer is now downstairs where telly was.
Second query is re the superhub that will be arriving for the 30 meg - I don't use or have need, at the moment, for wireless networking. I assume there will be some way of switching this off during set up of the superhub and will doing this avoid some of the problems I see a lot are having with the so called "super"hub ?
Many thanks to anyone who can give assistance on these - just hope I havn't made a mistake upgrading.

Yes you should be able to use the modem downstairs where the TV box was. As for wireless the issues will only effect the wifi clients so if you use the ethernet only the wifi can be left on and just not used.. It won't make any difference.

Many thanks for quick reply. Re the wireless just thought maybe it was possible to disable it to avoid having to set up any security passwords etc. if I am not going to use it.
