Tivo and Slingbox

Does anyone if the Tivo is better than the Scientific Atlanta box when used with a Slingbox?
The problem with the old SA boxes was that they wouldn't output any of the menus or EPG on the scart socket when the HDMI was in use for a TV. This reduced the usefulness of the Slingbox by a large degree. The only workaround was to loop the component outputs but it was a very unwieldy solution if you just wanted a simple HDMI feed to the TV.

Re: Tivo and Slingbox

It's better in that TiVo outputs the menus to the scart socket, but worse because there is a bug which means that if the HDMI connected TV isn't switched on or tuned to the TiVo input then TiVo just outputs an "HDMI connection not allowed" message, and the current resolution seems to require tuning the HDMI connected TV to TiVo to activate the picture, which isn't much use if you are accessing your Slingbox from the far flung corners of the globe (or the office).
