Upgrade from SD to HD box
Hi,
I'm considering buying a new HD TV which has HDMI only connection - no Scart, so I'll have to upgrade the existing Samsung SMT-2100C SD box to either a V HD or V + HD box. I'd going to go for the V HD box with HD activated. I'm currently on TV:M, broadband:M and phone. I've done some research on prices, etc. Could somebody confirm this: I have to upgrade to TV:M+ at extra cost of £6.50pm?; The one-off cost of V HD box is £49.99 for HD activation and £20 delivery?; Since the box will be delivered, I can self install and so do not need to pay £35 for an engineer call out nor a £15 Quickstart fee (Quickstart applies only to modem installs?)?; These are the only charges? - I currently get a £7pm bundle discount. Might I lose this if I upgrade?; The V HD box comes with HDMI cable? What do I do with the Samsung SD box? Thanks. |
Re: Upgrade from SD to HD box
You do not have to upgrade to TV M+. You can stay on TV M.
Paying the £49.95 activation fee and the £20 self-install fee will allow you to watch the HD channels which come with TV M. See here: http://shop.virginmedia.com/existing...-channels.html The £20 charge covers the cost of postage and package for the new box and return postage and package for your old box. |
