Bathroom ceiling noise

Hi,

Everytime we use our en-suite bathroom hot tap, we get a clicking noise coming from the ceiling.

It's not a drip - it's too loud for that - possibly an air lock, but it does it every time and has been for months.

Any idea what it could be?

Probably the hot pipe expanding and rubbing against a joist above.Used to get this with my central heating.

I solved the problem by moving house!

Heat expansion is most likely as above, there are things you can do but it depends on how much it's annoying you.

What is above the bathroom? Attic space or floor?

The loft! I'm not sure if the pipes are accessible.

they ought to be, perhaps go up there and get someone to turn on the hot and see if you can locate the noise
