Sky living OD

Why is there such a small amount of content under Sky living OD since Virgin media sold the channel to Sky? They used to have catch up for most of the big shows and a fair amount of old content. Last night I looked and all that's there is episodes of four weddings, most haunted and bedlam. Wouldn't Virgin media have made sure Sky was still going to put programmes on there as part of the contract?

Sky now only supply what is available to their own customers on Anytime, this obviously shows up the limitations of Sky's own service.

They don't want more of their content available on VM, than their own.

From a balanced perspective though DF it has only just properly launched and Sky are now putting full series on it , the main drawback at the moment to me is that it is only available to Sky BB customers , but that will change sooner or later in my opinion.

No need to balance as it's the current situation for Sky Living. The OP asked a specific question and I answered it truthfully.

The fact that Sky Anytime has only launched means nothing to a VM customer ;)

In deed it doesn't but I believe Sky living content is on anytime+ and sky player although I'm not 100% , so maybe the reason you state is incorrect.

Just dawned on me it was a member on here who had emailed the CEO office asking about Sky OD content and was told Sky wanted to much money for it. If VM had a contract to take all Sky Living OD content , wouldn't Sky be in breach of contract for not providing it.

well off the top of my head there's no Greys anatomy , cougar town . Maybe Sky hasn't acquired the OD rights for all the Living Shows yet.

I don't know, we rarely watch Sky Living so I didn't honestly know what programmes from that list are from the channel.

I think that was to do with Sky1 etc.. they will be added this year, no date given yet.

Living was a female oriented channel on VM and I think Sky are keeping it that way. They have moved Bones from Sky one and Chuck from Virgin 1 to Living, which are slightly more gender neutral, but no sign of either of those on Anytime+, so you could be right.

That's what I mean once anytime+ is bedded in fully and in more homes I fully expect Sky to pick rights up to most shows , if VM have a deal for that channels content OD will then end up on VM also.

As I said I rarely watch this channel but were the programmes mentioned in this thread previously available on OD when VM owned the channels?

I have no idea, Chuck dosen't seem a bad show but I haven't watched the others that have been mentioned.

A little clarification please. Were you referring to further Sky Living OD material coming later this year, or other Sky basics OD coming later this year?

I read that original comment to mean all of Sky basic channels and so was dissapointed when I read it, as the original announcement when the deal was finally done on Sky basics channels did say VM would be able to have access to OD content.

There would be good value in VM getting OD content from other Sky basic channels, as their are popular programmes on Sky channels e.g. House and Fringe are our favourites.

You get so used to having the OD or catchup service from VM (which is great) for the main BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and 5 channels, you start to miss it on others!

It started as a female oriented channel but VM started to push it towards men too as the viewing figures rose.

Yes PC, it will be for other Sky basic channels.
