A VERY Nooby Question

Ok simple question here, and very nooby.

If i am on a wired connection via ethernet to my console, does port forwarding do anything? Or is port forwarding just for wireless?

Thanks.

no mate its used to control access to your PC. You can set port access for certain applications, for example gaming servers, allowing the connection to and from your PC..

As I understand it anyway ..

But some ports are for Xbox Live and such, and if specific ports are forwarded then gameplay improves, what I am asking is does the console have to be on a wireless connection or can it be connected via ethernet?

Makes no difference what connection method.

Well it shouldn't, though with the superhub being "special" who knows? But with any normal router, you forward a port to an ip address and that's it, the device shouldn't care about how that device is connected.

Yeah, but that's "special" as in "special school". ;)
