Telewest Online Banking via STB

Bit of an obscure question but I was reading through some random historic press releases on the VM website (clearly have too much time on my hands). I came across one entitled 'Telewest signs carriage agreement with Lloyds TSB'.

I just wondered if anyone knows if this ever actually materialised and if so, what happened? Being able to access banking services via the STB sounds like a pretty good idea....

Don't know the answer to that but I know NTL had interactive banking from Abbey National as did Sky I think.

Interactive TV was expected to be a huge thing with us shopping, banking and all manner of things but history tells us it didn't really pan out like that. People used their PC's instead which became more widespread with the advent of decent broadband connections and much cheaper hardware.

We all ended up using Digital TV STB's to....watch TV!

No doubt much to the operators dismay.

Me too, I never paid for mine though and feel sorry for the people that did.
