this used to happen with milk tokens -shops gave cigs etc instead of milk
not sure if milk tokens still exist these days .

In other news the sun came up this morning, trying to look after every aspect of people's lives is stupid, and giving some people stuff for free and expecting them to use it appropriately doesn't always work.

It's the same with anything. if you give people money such as dole. then not all of it is going to be spent on 'essentials'.

just live and let live. they're less trouble then :D

I'm just gobsmacked that officials are surprised by this .Schemes like this are notorious for being abused ,as has already been mentioned there was a thriving trade in milk tokens ,even family allowance books used to be signed over to loan sharks to pay for loans .Whichever form "free stuff" takes there will be someone prepared to abuse the system

Well the other 1 in 5 is getting fruit, vegetable or pulses, depending on the poison. They are just getting them post-fermentation.

Not really a surprise is it we could probably all taken a good guess this was going on just as much as abuses in the tax system happen but no one seems to highlight those quite so much :erm:.
