Wanted: PCI wireless card for Win7 64

Does anyone know for *certain* of a pci wireless card that will work with Windows 7 64 bit version.
Must have signed/certified drivers to be allowed to run, which is where I'm stuck at this point. Tried a couple I have in stock (Thanks for nothing Netgear) but getting Code 10 fails.

tia.

Well, to be honest, No it doesn't.
I've already been there and tried 2 of the items listed as compatible and they're not!!

That's why I'm asking for anyone that has real-world experience of a card that actually has working signed drivers.

Have you tried installing the drivers in compatibility mode? :)

Someone on this link got theirs working like that.

This is ridiculous. I've got a WG311 from Netgear that says Windows 7 compatible on the box. But it's not.

The drivers are not signed and older versions will only work if you have 2Gb or less RAM in the box. Yes, you can use compatibility mode for Vista if you want to toss out half your memory to persuade it to work.

FFS, how long has Win7 64 been available now?

Could this be your problem?

We have found the issue to code 10 error after installing the WG311v3 PCI Adapter.

Tech support in Australia has informed me that there are faulty batches in circulation.

You find these by looking for the S/N (Serial Number) on a white (in my case) sticker on the back of the PCI Card.

If it starts with any of the following numbers take it back to your retailer and inform them Netgear knows of this problem.

1CX1763
1CX1773
1CX1783
1CX1793

Now why this was not posted on the website or sooner in the forums I have no idea and in defense of Netgear I should have called their tech support line first as unlike many other companies the first person I talked to resolved the issue.

I returned my card which was replaced in about 3-4 weeks. Installed it just like I did with the faulty card and hey presto. All works well.

FYI the new card starts with 1CX17C3 which is no real significance other than it is not in the faulty batch list and it worked first time. I know this is an older card now but hopefully this will help some people.

past caring now, the card's going back and I'll get a Cisco that works without workrounds or compatibility hacks.

Nope, checked the serials. That's all good.
Even the latest drivers off the Netgear support are giving this code 10 error. For a company of this size that's really not good enough.

For future reference I bought the Cisco/Linksys WMP600N.

Popped it in a slot and Win7 found and installed drivers immediately. Sweet as a nut and getting a decent signal from both my house wireless rigs.
