SH installed, was slow, but fixed now?
We got our Super Hub today, and I activated it as soon as I could. We got a similar IP to what we used to have (82.xxx.xxx.xxx) and the speeds were... slow. Every Speedtest.net I did had a slower and slower speed each time, until the internet completely crapped out. Rebooted, and it failed to get an WAN IP. Rebooted again and again, until leaving it to go and get the housephone to phone 150. With the horrible robot lady in the ear, just checked the status page and it has a 72.xxx.xxx.xxx IP and it works. Speedtest.net is giving me between 25-30 down, 42ms ping but an odd upload. It sits doing nothing for 10 seconds, then starts and slowly accelerates to 1Mb/s, with that being the end result. Pingtest.net gave me an A score, with around 7ms jitter and a 40ms ping.
Strangely enough, the last internet article I read before it crapped out was this: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2011/02...superhub_fail/ The article was a bit ambiguous, but are these problems increasing in frequency? Was there any reason they posted the article today especially? |
Re: SH installed, was slow, but fixed now?
tbh dude (and I know I am going to be criticised for being too negative) but it sounds like pretty much everyone is having a problem with the super hub in one way or another. I only hope that all the complaints and feedback are being collated and VM will learn from this.
I dont like being forced to use crap and I feel like we have gone back to the days when they were shipping usb modems (thank god I already had an ethernet one); nice and easy to absolute rubbish equipment at the end of the day |
Re: SH installed, was slow, but fixed now?
Is your issue fixed then? Different modems react differently to different power levels. Post your connection stats and we will take a look
