Not sure you can group V+ and TiVo issues together as they don't work in the same way

They are not. Once you set a series link on TiVo, if the series finishes and eventually the next one starts on a different date or time, TiVo should notice and still record the series. V+ can't do this.

I think you are more likely to see series link issues with V+HD though :)
