This problem would be easy solved, by going with wired network + home plug (electrical plug adaptor) throughout.. easy. So I repeat.... no network set up, no changing to best channel/signal nor even have repeaters in different rooms...just plug & play (wired network vs wireless). Oh yes too not forgetting, if you are a gamer - you'll have hardly a latency problem in your connection (slow unresponsive game play + game lag) compared to wireless which has loads. That's why pro-gamers only use wired internet connection in the first place! - I 'd like to say you get the most for what money you pay for your own private ISP connection full stop.

kelda, the problem with wifi is that other things cause interference (walls, microwaves, etc) - 15 metres is a long way for internal wifi.

I had a cable put upstairs in my house, and plugged another wifi router in it - since then, no issues.

It'll have about 100-300m range in clear space outside. Indoors each wall reduces this by about half to two-thirds. Two walls = 25m, three walls = 13m.

Only way to get close to the quoted range is in free-space with no walls.

then why are these 100 to 300 range network ethernet wifi adapter available if they dont do as they say ?

these are supposed to go through walls too but has same distance range as laptop internal wifi, no difference at all

Same reason they claim 300mbps but don't do as they say. Or why 200mbps homeplugs rarely go near that speed.

The hardware in them is often the same as the laptop internal wifi so there's no reason they'd have longer range.
