50mb install, power levels out? not affecting anything so far...
Just had my 50mb installed this morning, the guys left before the internet was even connected, he just left me with a web page and said keep pressing next untill it says restarting superhub. anyway, speed testing at 49 download 4.2 upload seems okay but the power levels seem too high? the latency hasnt been great when gaming but hey hoe, at least i have been able to game at all, which is better than a lot of people on here. My power levels etc below:
Also, does anyone else notice you get signed out of the superhub every few seconds?? WTF! Yep, downstream power levels too high, my SH levels are around 14. After ringing faults, have engineer booked this Thursday to reduce.

It should be a lot better once those levels are lowered, keep us updated.

just called, got through to offshore; "hello sarah speaking"
I said "errrr... hello, is that virgin media" the reply was "yes, and this is sarah speaking" so i went through with blahblah power levels blah blah slow speeds and an engineer is coming tomorrow |

Re: 50mb install, power levels out? not affecting anything so far...
Just out of shear curiosity guys, what kind of service degradation would you expect to see (if any) when your levels are high (10 to 15dBmv), but your not seeing oodles of T3,s + T4,s, correctable codewords etc.
Is it more of a case of if its working and not constantly disconnecting then all is good and don't worry about it, or would you expect to see small amounts of packet loss/Jitter, but the higher your levels climb the worse it gets. We appear to be seeing numerous threads where Superhubs are running apparently fine with high downstream power levels so maybe a sticky for these might be an idea. Just a thought. |
