Questions before upgrading to 30mb
 

Hi,

I'll give a little info on my situation... I live in India through work, my parents have 20MB with a modem + router configuration at the moment. My dad's looking at upgrading to 30mb as it’s slightly cheaper and faster. I use the connection remotely to download movies e.t.c for him so we would use the extra speed. My dads not very good with technical things and I would rather setup the new superhub for him....

My questions are, if he upgrades and doesn't install the new superhub straight away, will his existing service still work using the same setup till I get home from India?... I ask this as I know it's on Doicsis 3.0 whatever that is.

Also what's the Upload speed changed to?

He will not get the 30Mb upgrade until his Superhub is activated as it will not work on a standard modem.

The upload will be 1Mb in none upgraded areas or 3Mb in upgraded areas.

I know he will not get the upgrade till the super hub is installed, but will his existing 20mb service still work? Or will the profile be changed on the line to stop it working without the super hub? That's what I meant.

Thanks for the info on the Upload speed. Do you know if the Uddingston area has been upgraded yet? Or what date it would be?

It has no effect on your current service which will continue to work until the Superhub is activated.

Ok thanks, do you have any info on the upload upgrade for the Uddingston UBR?

It is being planned so after August sometime.
