Help tethering mac / iphone.

Hi all, my Brother has bought a second hand mac powerbook G4 and is trying to tether his iphone 3gs, he's not having much luck and what I know about mac is dangerous. He's been onto Vodafone to make sure tethering is enabled and it is, the guy tried a s much as he could but confessed he wasn't a mac man so couldn't help any more :rolleyes:

So, any mac people have any suggestions, he's running osx 10.4.11 and ios 4.1
