How to default to IE 32bit?
Hi
I have Win 7 Home 64bit which opens IE 64bit by default. Not a problem if you view sites that dont use flash but of course if you viewing youtube then you cannot watch it. Is there a way to change the default to the 32bit version? |
Re: How to default to IE 32bit?
Try this as it gives you the path to launch IE8 32bit.

Re: How to default to IE 32bit?
I know where the path is as the start menu gives boths options what I wont to do is make all "IE" shortcuts use the 32 bit. I dont think i can change the task bar version.

Yes I know I read the link. Its just the wife opens IE then opens a like to say youtube then complains that flash is not installed (flash does not support 64bit version yet) so I told yher she needs to remember to open the other version which does have flash installed ie 32bit.

As others have said remove the 64bit IE from the task bar and drag over the 32bit icon to desktop do another copy and pin that on the task bar

You can just right click on the 32 bit entry from the start menu & select pin to taskbar...

Re: How to default to IE 32bit?
I use 64 bit Windows 7 too and IE 32 Bit was the default.
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\iexplorer.exe and make this your default browser. Once open go to Tools > Internet Options > Programs and click on "Make Default" |
