If you already have it then try it out, can't see why it wouldn't work but if you are planning on buying one then just buy a wireless N router for about £30

Re: Can i use a wireless modem router with Virgin?
Thanks for that, yeah been given it off a friend so thought it would be worth trying, but wasnt sure if the modems would clash for some reason.
I know how to connect the hardware up, but will i need configure the wireless router with settings from Virgin? Cheers |
Re: Can i use a wireless modem router with Virgin?
You do not state in your original post but my assumption is that you want to share your Virgin Cable Internet connection by using a wireless router.
Short answer... the DG834G won't work if you have a Virgin Media Cable broadband connection and you intend to share the connection. It will work if you have a Virgin Media ADSL internet connection. The DG834G is an ADSL wireless router for use on internet through the telephone line. If you have a cable internet connection you need something like a Netgear DG614 cable router. The DG834G would work as a wireless access point plugged into a cable router that did not have wireless. Berkut |

As you have cable an ADSL modem router will not work. You would need a cable router.
