Devolo 200 AV+ vs BELKIN 200 AV Powerline
 
Members often ask about how Powerline/Homeplug devices work. So I thought it meight be of use to describe the comparison I made between my Belkin 200 AV Powerline system and the Devolo equivalent.

When I upgraded from 20 to 50 meg, I had to replace the original Devolo 14 meg Homeplugs. So I chose Belkin because it was in the shop on the day and the reviews hadn't disappointed me.

But, just recently, I needed to put an additional device into the same socket and the Devolo has a passthrough power socket which the Belkin doesn't. So I bought a pair of Devolos and swapped out the Belkins.

Instantly I saw the difference. I could never get much more than 40 meg (very rarely 42) on the Belkins. The Devolo gets me up to 49 meg downstream.

Upstream remains at the measly 3.75 meg on the Devolos as with the Belkins.

Later, I'll plug the Belkins back in as additional and see what happens.
