V+ to Mac Mini?

Hi all, I have a Mac Mini attached to my TV by Hdmi and use it to view iTunes movies etc., what I'd like to do is use it to replace my ageing Philips DVD recorder for archiving off programmes from the V+ box. Now I know the Mac doesn't have a TV tuner or analogue capture device so I wondered if anyone had any recommendations for a USB or FireWire device that I can hook the scart output from the V+ to. Most of the other discussions on here have been about full size cards to put into PC towers. With the Xmas season upon us we seem to be running out of space quite rapidly. Ta.

I have an EyeTV 200 - that connects via firewire and works great - I was using it to allow an old iMac G4 to function as a TV (cable box was connected through the EyeTV and the software then displayed the cable picture on the screen).

Difficult to get hold of that particular model, but one of their newer models should work out quite well for you. Try this one...

Would have to run S-Video or Composite (phono) cables from the V+ to the EyeTV, so will depend on which V+ box you have - not sure if V+ boxes support S-Video but they will do Composite so you might also need a SCART to Composite adapter.

Ta, SCART to RGB I already have (never throw a cable away is my motto ;)), I'll check it out.

Forgot to add, if you use EyeTV to grab the programs from your V+ box, it will transcode them for your iPod / iPhone / iPad / other generic mobile player if you have one
