Router (Netgear wgt624 v3) and Xbox live problem

Last night I was playing Saints Row 2 on Co-op but XBL kept disconnecting.

When I tested the connection it said it could connect but with limited connectivity, it also said that my NATS was set to moderate.

But a while ago I had this problem with COD:MW2/GTA:IV and I gave my Xbox a static IP and opened ports 53 to 3074, and this problem stopped.

Will opening all ports (1 to 65534) for the static IP cause any problems, or should I not do this.

I thought I might be snow related.
