HP Netbook freezes on boot - WinXP

I have Win XP Pro installed on my netbook

To my dismay it now freezes part way through attempting to boot windows

I have managed to fully boot in safe mode, so I suspect a BIOS setting

....am I correct? If so what should I be looking for? (its a long time since I have fiddled in there :erm: )

any suggestions gratefully recieved :o:

:o: ERRR :o:

seems my wife has not only bust my netbook, but used my log in to try and fix it before I found out!!!!!!

(.....oh how we laughed at this one )

now I know, what she`s done I will reboot in safe mode and "msconfig" or try a "restore".

If that dont work will re post again...

....anyone need a slightly bruised woman?????

Try hitting f8 at start to get boot options menu then select 'last known..'

Wouldn't be BIOS if it booted into safe mode anyway :) It's more likely to be spyware/virus/incorrect or corrupt registry or something like that.

You're right to try MSConfig first :)
