2nd box not picking up all channels
 

Hi,
had my installation last week [VIP20], everything ok. Next day noticed that my additional box wasn't picking up Sky Sports 3 or 4 but all other channels were ok. Contacted CS who said they would send a signal to the box and it then worked fine, but this is a re-occuring problem as I have the same problem again today [and yesterday]. Any ideas :)

You need to ring up so they can check if your box is correctly provisioned and it will be better than doing it via the Virginmedia forum.

I know that but he will need a signal sent and the card and box checked for balancing if that does not work as that is fairly new to the system.

It is a bit confusing as If you call regarding missing channels (or any TV fault for that matter) it plays a recorded message telling you to use the fix it assistant, if you hold on for an adviser you then get told to...use the fix it assistant!. I did for a faulty V+ LCD display and I thought it fixed it but sadly it didn't. I'm not chancing a tech visit though incase they replace it with an SA box as I like recording radio channels, apart from the display it works ok.

I don't think the adviser really knew much about the fault I have and in fairness to him he did offer to book a tech visit too, I just didn't really want to take the chance of ending up with an older box given it isn't a major fault anyway.

Which may or may not fix the box especially if the account is not balanced.

Semi related query, my dad has just had a 2nd V HD box installed in another room, he pays for sky sports hd for the main receiver in the living room. This second box doesn't have sky sports hd, does he have to pay twice for it? Thanks in advance.

You have to pay for each box that requires a subscription.
