It can be a cable line - although to use Sky Anytime+ you have to have Sky Broadband at present (which requires a BT based line)

We have sky anytime, but a virgin media phoneline, and it works. No idea if that is the case for sky hd.

Anytime delivers programmes to the box via the satellite using tuner downtime (i.e. when you aren't using the box), so the provider of the phone line to which the box is connected doesn't matter.

Anyime+ delivers on demand using broadband, and they've decided (at least for now) to restrict it to Sky broadband customers.
