Connection woes :-(

Hi,
My broadband connection went offline earlier today (TV is fine though) just got off the phone to 'Tech support' who tell me I need to wait on an engineer to come out as they claim there is a fault with my modem. I'm then told the next available slot is Friday.
Cant say I'm impressed with having to wait all week, but I guess I don't really have any other option.
Does anyone have any advice about how I might go about convincing VM to send someone out sooner? I know that might sound cheeky, but being self empolyed and having a daughter who needs the connection for school work, I could really do with not being DC'd for the whole week. :(

Just to add I've just this second noticed that my samsung tv box has a green light flashing, I'm guessing the two issues are connected?

More likely a problem with the signal as opposed to a fault with the modem as the 'CS' perso suggested....... Not that I was the slightest bit convinced they knew what they were talking about as they didn't even know the order of the days of the week let alone how to say 'Jones' *sighs*

Sounds like you lost your upload.

Probably won't help but make sure all your connections are good.

Although the CS person said there's no fault in the area, could it be just that? Everything was fine earlier today.

if they get more than 5 techs booked int eh same area yes ita network fault.

the fact youa re waiting to friday suggest there a lot of techs booked already meaning a netowrk fault might be the case but ther enothing oyu can do to make them go any faster i suggest if you work from home and oyur coencntion you need al the tiem move to the business accoutn you could have omeoe out with 4 hours and if you lose money from business due toa fault you be compsate. jsut now you nly get maybe 2 or 3 compsation as you only get the amount due for lost of service ie the price you pay after discoutns

Ive just heard from someone that there's a fair chance it's a fault in the area as their cable service is offline too.
Little less worried about it lasting till Friday now lol.

Ah, the old "choose your friends carefully, and your enemies wisely" approach - absolutely....
