pricing query

I want to buy a new CPU, motherboard & some ram. Now I can either buy it before xmas, or around august. Since the VAT is going up to 20% (after xmas), would I save money buying it before xmas, or would the price drop untill august and make no difference?

here's what I'm looking to get:

Prices for IT components tend to go down..up...down..up.. so the only sure thing you do know is that in Jan they will go up ;)

The only sure thing is that VAT is going up;)

Lets not forget the New Year sales where they try to get rid of all their old and obsolete equipment.
