I had a shocking connection on my ps3 thursday evening playing MW2, I was hosting a 5 player private match and I was lagging more than the people connecting to me :td:

Then last night on my xbox playing,,,, you guessed it MW2 and was getting loads of lag spikes, after 12 o'clock I started to occasionally get selected as host but really struggled to shoot anyone but for everyone else the game played smooth?????????

Indicating upstream packet loss

Testing using the myvoip site shows downstream performance being good but upstream shows brief but frequent packet loss between 20 to 40% :td::td:

What annoys me the most is that this traffic shaping rubbish was brought in to slow down p2p and newsgroups, However all it seems to have done is bugger up the whole Internet experience. Anyone with an ounce of knowledge can circumnavigate the traffic shaping on the newsgroups which means the traffic shaping is useless and not doing what its supposed to do.

So the likes of those playing Warhammer, WOW, Steam games and most FPS might as well giveup now :(

Re: Warhammer Online

Frustrating isn't the word, why is it gamers seem to get shafted first,,,,,, considering we use little bandwidth we should be prioritised above all other types of traffic in my opinion, given the time sensitive nature of our requirements.

Yes I know its a selfish comment and I'm fine with that

What about posting this on the support forums and see what support has to say? Seeing as they only have complaints about MMO's.
