OMG i hope if there are people trapped they get out ok.

However can you imagine if this had happened on the 5th of November in London when the normal firefighter would have been on STRIKE.

Hats off to the Manchester firefighters for being there when they were needed :tu:.

Just heard on skynews, i've always been afraid of gas for some reason, each time i go out i have to check the cooker 5 times and the fire, even if they haven't been on.

Hope they are all ok.

The explosion woke me up this morning and I live about 4 miles away as the crow flies.

We have a couple of industrial areas and two airports near us and it took a while to find out what had happened.

Friends actually live only 150yds away from the explosion and seem to have come through with only a few tiles being blown off their roof and a lot of debris in their garden.

My thoughts go out to those people injured by the explosion, having seen the total destruction I am amazed that no one was killed.

I agree - they may not be feeling it right now but they are very lucky to be alive.
